Western Australia occupies most of the country and is the largest and least inhabited state of Australia. Perth is the capital of this leviathan, and the world’s most isolated large city, while the make-up of the rest of the state is mostly desert and deserted beaches. It is this remoteness and accompanying untouched beauty that attracts visitors.
Western Australia has much to offer the active and families with kids, owing to its wide open spaces, beautiful coastline, and Perth’s myriad attractions. Perth’s fine beaches and parks are a real boon for kids and Perth Zoo makes a great day out on a rainy winter’s day. Outside Perth are the amazing Ningaloo Reef at Exmouth, the dolphins at Monkey Mia, and the bubbling surf at Margaret River.
Western Australia is the favourite part of the country for many visitors and its diverse attractions appeal to all types. Luckily, nowhere gets especially crowded and Perth is big enough to accommodate its visitors. Towns like Albany and Broome are remote and laid-back, while Fremantle, Rottnest Island and the Ningaloo Reef highlight the diversity of this beautiful region.

Perth International Airport (PER) is Western Australia’s main airport and the only one that receives international flights, while Broome, Kalgoorlie, Kununurra, and Karratha airports receive flights from cities nationwide. From London, Perth is a 17-hour flight, while it is 10 hours from Dubai, and about five hours from Singapore.
