Good size, good facilities and broadband connection. I missed the caution in the booking confirmation about the refurbishments and used neither the gym nor the swimming pool, for which I had originally selected the hotel. Otherwise, I though that my room was excellent value for money and the hotel v convenient for my work....

We had high expectations of this hotel and they were dashed not long after arriving! We arrived at 7.30am after long overnight flight. We were told our room wouldn't be ready til 2.00pm but they would try and sort it out sooner. The only place to sit was in reception area, we weren't offered tea/coffee/water whilst we waited. We were told the bar would be open shortly if we wanted a drink. We decided to go out for a walk and returned at 11.45 the room still wasn't ready. At 12.45 our room was available. Reception offered to take our luggage to our room-it appeared an hour later. We updraded our room in this hotel and whilst the size of the room was excellent noise from the traffic outside was considerable. Little things like the telephone not being close to the bed was an irritation particularly with the time difference and family ringing from home in the middle of the night.
We reported a problem with our TV 3 times before anyone came to resolve it. We asked a memeber of staff at reception on 3 different occasions for directions/information on each occasion we were given the wrong directions/info. It appreared that the reception staff only knew the basics about local tourist info. We particularly booked this hotel because it had a 'roof top' swimming pool, it was roof top but it is stretching the defintiion of swimming pool-it is very small -more of an oversized plunge pool.
It was very well placed for entertainment/public transport-but we found out much of this ourselves

Considering the rediculous price of hotel accommodation in Sydney this hotel was a very welcome value for money facility. Refurbishment is just about complete and the rooms are much nicer than expected being large quiet and comfortable. Location is excellent being only 1 short block from the metro and right on the edge of CBD shopping. Highly recommended if you can get a good internet price deal such as through hoteltravel.com.
