Being an attreactive older building tastefully restored it was a chabnge from the multi-story hotels in the area. The staff were most helpful and the atmosphere in the hotel was friendly and gave one a feeling of personal importance to the staff....

Lovely place and great location. Housekeeping in room was poor and we did share that info with front desk which also called in head of housekeeping. Presume that specific worker was appropriately dealt with.

Great location, nicely updated historic building. Made a twin into a king for us at no extra charge. A bit of noise outside our window from an adjoining restaurant early in the AM, but that's life in the big city.

This was an old style hotel, very clean good sized rooms, furnishings were all good quality. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ideally situated for Sydney Harbour/Opera House. Did not use restaurant for breakfast as the hotel was surrounded with cafes which sold breakfast at half hotel prices. Would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

Perfect down town location in chic Sydney Harbour neighbourhood without being too close to main thoroughfares or tourist honey pots at Circular Quay or the market area under the Harbour Bridge etc. Quiet unassuming setting with understated but smart decor; rooms were adequate without the necessity for overblown luxury which most visitors will not want to pay for during short stop overs. Above all quiet for sleeping off jet lag after long haul flights. Breakfast was wide choice of tropical and typical Anglo Saxon fare offering the perfect set up to a day's site seeing.
Reception staff were not only helpful and very welcoming with a personal touch, but swtiched on with good shopping, restaurants and night life advice.
Just the kind of hotel service we seek wherever we are travelling in the world; give us this understated personal approach every time over big name hotel chains with their unnecessary and sometimes cheesy scale and reptitiveness.
The perfect kind of hotel
