New South Wales has no end of outdoor activities available owing to its large, diverse landscape. The surfing here is excellent, with the likes of Bondi Beach and Byron Bay, while the lofty Snowy Mountains have superb skiing. There is plenty for kids to do in Australia’s most verdant state, and Sydney is one large playground.

There are minor airports up and down the coast of New South Wales, including Newcastle's airport, which receives interstate flights, yet most travellers to Australia arrive at Sydney’s Kingsford-Smith International Airport and depart from here for destinations throughout the state. Kingsford-Smith has three terminals – T1 (international) and the domestic T2 and T3 terminals – and facilities include money changers, ATMs, duty-free and business services.
