Citigate Melbourne Hotel

"Citigate is directly across the street from the main train station - convenient, and no problem with noise. The "waterview rooms", all at the front of the building on the higher floors, have views of the river, beautiful. The other rooms, "Citigate rooms", all have views of the office buildings, a meter away on the sides, a little further at the back, not very nice. Easy walking all over the central area, it's near the restaurants and bars on the river, enjoyed it very much! Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, nice chairs, reasonably sized. We made the booking for a "deluxe" room", which it turned out to be a "Citigate room" - a view of the office building a meter away. We went back to the desk and asked for a room with a view, and they said sure, you want a "waterview room". No problem, $20 more per night. They were very nice about it. Valet parking was quick and friendly. Beautiful river views from higher front rooms, right across from the train station (but quiet), close to restaurants and shops. Trains, trams, buses, all right there. "
