Rated #27 for all Melbourne hotels
Hotel staff were well informed about the area and Melbourne and very helpful with suggestions and tips. Renovations underway during our visit so did not use restaurants etc... fitness area and pool not large but very well appointed and extremely clean. Our room was comfortable and quiet despite construction. Enjoyed the 10 minute tram ride daily we took to go downtown.. during the Australian Open we could show our tickets and get this tram ride free of charge.... great hospitailty by the host city. ...

Front office staff service was amateurish at best ... no broadband available in the room (although broadband point was present) ... limited wireless connections available but all taken at time of visit ... on the plus side, room service menu and quality of food was good.

Although I liked this hotel, I thought our room was in need of an upgrade, especially the bathroom which was very dated.

The room we were assigned to was in a secondary wing of the building, quite old and poor. The hotel was, in general too big and uncontrolled and old.

It is difficult to give a more detailed response to this as our company had a Christmas function on at a venue across from the Carlton Crest so my visit was only an overnight one which did not give me the opportunity to use the facilities of the hotel.
