Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn, is situated in the heart of the Kakadu National Park, one of the few World Heritage sites listed for both cultural and natural heritage, and one of the world's greatest nature reserves. The hotel, created by a Darwin architect working with the local Aboriginal people, is in the shape of a crocodile. Its jaws encompass the entrance, and the body section houses the guest rooms overlooking a central courtyard with a recreation area of natural billabongs and a shaded swimming pool.. The design was chosen by the Gagudju Association because 'Ginga', the giant crocodile, is a spirit ancestor of the Gagudju people and commands great respect in their lives.
