Iguazu Falls Introduction
This extraordinary series of waterfalls on the Brazilian-Argentine border is topped only by Africa’s Victoria Falls. For 2.7 kilometres and 275 individual cascades, this mesmerising natural phenomenon of the plummeting Iguazu River can be witnessed from a great series of observation walkways. One walkway jutting right into the spray affords a view which is surrounded by 260 degrees of roaring, frothy white water crashing into pools and upon rocks far below. The rate of water hurdling through the falls is 12,750 cubic metres per second during the rainy season (November to March).
